Sam Wolson is a photographer, filmmaker, VR producer and member of Agence VU'. He grew up on a flower farm in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, and he's currently based in Berlin, Germany. In addition to assignments for editorial and corporate clients, such as The New York Times and Apple, Wolson pursues personal projects, often focusing on issues around marginalized communities and public space in the global South and across the United States. His most recent project We Who Remain had its world premier at the South By Southwest festival in Austin Texas in 2017. The film, a 15 minute immersive VR documentary which weaves together the lives of four people – a student, a rebel soldier, a journalist, and a mother living in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, is the first character driven immersive documentary shot in an active conflict zone. The film was a co-production Nuba Reports, Emblematic Group, The New York Times, AJ+ and ARTE.
